Yoga

Yoga is the physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in India. In Sanskrit, it is “yuj” which means “to yoke” and “samadhi” which means “concentration”.
Yoga is a practice that aims to join the mind, body, and spirit.
Benefits:
  • Builds strength (holding the poses) and balance (the older we get the more important the practice of balance is)
  • Decreases anxiety by providing self-calming skills. (It provides tools to de-stress on and off the mat)
  • Provides skills to clear the mind (breath work and meditation)
  • Improves body awareness 
  • Enhances focus (a big part of balancing is selecting your “dristi” or focal point-teaches you to tune out the distracting surroundings)
  • Provides skills to clear your mind (breathwork and meditation)
  • Increases your self-esteem (this is something I can do for myself and it really feels good!)

You must take time out for yourself. Self-care is key to us all. If you feel good-the world is your oyster!

Reiki

Universal Life Energy

Reiki is a healing energy that activates the body's natural ability to heal. It addresses mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual imbalances, clearing any energy blockages that may negatively affect your health.
What to Expect from a Reiki Session:
  • Everyone reacts differently to Reiki.
  • You may feel heat or tingling sensations from the practitioner's hands.
  • Some people may fall asleep during the session.
  • It can help release pent-up emotions, leading to possible crying.
  • Reiki promotes improved sleep, stress relief, and pain relief.
  • It enhances clarity and intuition.
  • Subtle differences may be noticed in the following days.
The average session lasts 60 minutes for adults and 30 minutes for children. Please wear comfortable clothes and remove your wristwatch and shoes. While the usual session is done with the recipient lying down, your comfort is the top priority, so sitting or side-lying positions are also possible. Reiki can be performed with a light touch, but if you prefer not to be touched, it can be done from a distance.
After your Reiki session, remember to drink plenty of water to support the ongoing cleansing of toxins from your body.
